I kind of expected a more noticeable bass from other reviews, it’s alright I guess and a little better than my last mini stereo but not as much as bass as I’d thought so I assume the cheaper one must have no bass. Clear sound and goes pretty loud, I’ll update on battery life as time goes on but for now it’s a decent product for price.Edit to say the battery life on this thing is phenomenal, I charged it twice in 12 days of daily use, this little stereo works forever! Will say it’s a little difficult to notice when it is running low unless you see the small red flashing light but still worked when I had it plugged in and charging so that’s a bonus.

I have good quality headphones attached to my iMac and use them most of the time. They are permanently plugged in. I also have in-ear headphones for my ipad. I wanted a speaker for those times when I did not want to or cannot use headphones e.g. listening to radio, working in the garage etc.. I like clear, detailed, balanced sound, not overly bright or boomy and was tempted to buy these by all the claims for great sound. For web based radio, Youtube instructional videos and other non-demanding applications I hear some sibilance but nothing really objectionable. Music shows the limitations of these speakers. They are not boomy, which was a fear, nor are they overly bright but mid ranges are muddy, vocals are sometimes recessed into the backround and there is a lack of detail but at this price point it is unfair to expect too much and they do sound as good as some more expensive speakers I have heard.I would agree with what others have said about the quality of construction, battery life, bluetooth connectivity, range etc but I would not say they have great sound, they do not. Many reviews make note of how loud they are and the amount of bass. If those properties are important to you I think you will be happy with the Soundcore 2 but if you expect something more balanced, detailed and musical you need to spend more money. For this price and for my usage they are perfectly OK and are probably as good as some more expensive speakers. Use them for background music or radio but not for serious listening.EDIT. My experience with Anker customer support has always been exceptional – a model for other companies – and this was no exception. After reading my review they sent me an upgraded Soundcore speaker – the Boost. This one has a button to boost the bass which to my ears did provide more bass and gave a slightly more spacious sound. I do not use the bass button because I do not like heavy bass. The original Soundcore 2 has raised buttons, this one has buttons that are flush with the speaker top and are more difficult to identify by touch. I prefer the raised buttons on the 2. Which is best? Both give sound that is good for the price. If you want a simple bluetooth speaker for occasional, casual use then either will give very good value for money. If you like heavier bass then go for the Boost If you want a speaker to act as your major sound source and give seriously good detailed and balanced sound you should look elsewhere but be prepared to spend a lot more money.Additional Edit. Someone left the speaker out in the rain, actually a storm, Oh Nooooo! but it survived unscathed.

Ok…. don’t every try this….I was rushing doing my laundry 3 days before my vacation and somehow my sound core 2 was folded over and ended up in the washing machine….. FOR THE FULL NORMAL CYCLE…. I heard some noise but did not bother checking the machine as I was busy with other chores….. I unloaded the machine and was horrified….. my speaker was in the washing machine.I turned it on and it still had a charge… I shut it off and put in a pot of rice to dry off.I immediately ordered another one on prime as I wanted have one for my trip. I returned from my vacation …. turned the original one on …. and it works fine…I would not recommend this test…. but hey…. its still working

Let me first say that if Anker/Soundcore can fix the EQ issue saving issues this is a 5 star speaker. Now for the Pros and Cons:Pros:- For the size this speaker has amazing sound but only with custom EQ settings applied. I’ve owned many of the big name brands and this is better sounding.- The tweeters add great hi-res sound and are positioned to give great off axis sound.- At regular mid listening volume I got about 12 hours battery life.- This speaker can play loud with no distortion and keep a linear response.- Bass response gets low for something so small. I tested with test tone very noticable right to 50hz- Water proof- has an nice app that can power the speaker off, pause/play, update firmware through the bluetooth and adjust EQ sound settings.Cons: – The big issue is the Custom EQ settings doesn’t always save, even with the new firmware 33.35. I’ve had mine turned off and on through a few days where it was remembering the Custom EQ and then one day it sounded off to me and when I looked the custom EQ setting was gone. Anker is supposedly working to fix this in the firmware but its really annoying to have to notice the issue and know that you may have listened to a few tracks without your preffered sound signature! I want to set it and forget it.- Should have had a power bank built in to charge my phone like all the other Anker speakers I’ve owned- Some types of bass can make a distortion sound in the bass. Its rare but some tracks can make a farting bass sound that does not happen on my hifi bookshelf speakers as comparison.- I’m not a fan of the metal speaker grill. Portability wise that metal grill will get dented or scratched. The speaker cloth on the little brother, the Soundcore Boost is a much better option. Maybe they should make an optional sock I can buy that would protect it in my backpack and outdoors while still allowing buttons to be accessed and sound to play though it.- The battery meter in the app and in my Bluetooth is not accurate. Mine said 60% battery life and only lasted until 20% when it died a few hours later. But fully charging it to 100% given much longer battery life, like 12 hours for me. Seems that still needs updating in the firmware which is likely fixable. In conclusion it’s a great sounding speaker with some functionality issues still to be worked out by Anker in the app and firmware. I’d like to see an actual battery percentage number in the app, for example 57% battery rather than nothing and having to open my BT settings to see the battery level number. Also I’d like an advanced 31 band EQ to further tweak the hi-fi sound. I would suggest leaving the simple EQ custom settings as default for people that don’t care and adding an advanced EQ button in the app that I can switch to.

Having replaced my JBL Charge 4 with the Sony XB32 for the better sound in pretty much every area, I read online that the Soundcore Motion+ outdid them both so I thought I’d check it out. I listen to various different types of music so it was easy to compare the two.The Motion+ has incredible upper mids and highs, most likely due to the dedicated tweeters, and so when it comes to the upper range it beats out the Sony by far. The instruments and vocals came through amazingly clear when listening to A Skylit Drive, as did the Vietnamese guzheng alongside the crisp voice of listening to Lệ Quyên. It also has noticeably better stereo separation thanks to the drivers being further apart, and presents a wider soundstage. However, the Motion+ definitely falls short to the Sony when it comes to bass. When both are suspended in the air the Sony manages to edge it out a bit, but once placed on a table or other flat surface, the difference becomes night and day. The bass is not only much louder but also handles notes lower down the frequency range, which was very evident when listening to the likes of Wiz Khalifa. The sound on the Sony is also much “tighter” especially in the upper bass and lower midrange, where listening to music like deadmau5 made the Motion+ sound tinny, though in almost all cases the Sony seemed to have a “Fuller” sound, especially when placed down on a flat surface, making it sound like a much larger and higher quality speaker. Some other things to note:-Motion+ is heavier-Motion+ is USB-C whereas the Sony is microUSB-Sony has better battery life-Sony has LED light show-Sony has USB output to charge a device. The battery won’t last long using it as a power bank but it can come in handy in a pinchThe win would come down to what kind of music you listen to most. If it’s a lot of slower music, or music where clarity is important, or you’re using this speaker to listen to podcasts, audiobooks, or other forms of dialogue; I can definitely recommend it over the Sony. However if you mostly listen to hip-hop, pop, EDM, or other genres where full sound and tight bass would be better, get the XB32 instead.

I have 9 different bluetooth speakers with brand names such as JBL, Bose, Sony etc., but this one right here is my absolute favourite. This one absolutely kills them all! Here is a tip I have for all who wisely choose to purchase the Anker Soundcore Motion+, and I cannot stress this enough — As good as the Bass up EQ setting may sound compared to how you can tweak the sound with the personal EQ setting, sounds terrible by comparison. Trust me on this! You can gain much more volume without sacrificing bass. I just love this thing! My new go-to speaker allows me to enjoy music again like no other on the market in it’s price range and others costing 2-3 times more. I VERY highly recommend it! Delivery was quick too.

(Commentaire en français suit)I have used the speaker for almost two weeks now and I am very satisfied with it.In the beginning, I thought I had a problem with it. The bass was a lot too boomy with a few classical music pieces. I had not read the manual…I thought that the speaker was defective and was thinking of returning it… I sent an email to Anker customer service. They were very kind and informed me that the bass booster function can be turned off as needed…So now, I am very satisfied with the speaker! The bass booster can add a nice depth to most music pieces. For the few ones that become too boomy, I only have to turn the bass booster off. Then the sound is totally Ok for these pieces of music. It is a very good speaker with an excellent sound for its size and surprisingly good for its price._________________J’ai utilisé le haut-parleur pour près de deux semaines maintenant et je suis très satisfait.

I love this speaker. I bought two of them. It’s far better than my Sony xb31 and my Bose soundlink as well.However.. one will sometimes cut out when using both speakers linked, they have to be fairly close to each other.. or maybe the source.. I’m still figuring that out. Also, the Soundcore app causes one speaker to cut out often when linked. I feel like that’s just a software issue.

My needs for a pair of bluetooth speakers is the opposite of most customers. I use them to listen to music at low to medium volumes. After much research I decided that speakers with passive bass radiators wouldn’t be the best choice for lower volumes and decided to pay the extra cost of the Motion + by Soundcore with their powered bass. An excellent decision, these speakers rock, even at low volumes. The bass is rich, the treble is crisp, and with a bit of EQ tweaking the midrange is clear. A minor problem is that between the EQ in the Soundcore app and the EQ in the source player it’s easy to get lost in search of the perfect setting. These speakers have a lot of range. But they sound great no matter how you set the EQ, they may sound different but never bad.I’m no audiophile but I’ve sure listened to a lot of speakers in my life and the Soundcore Motion + simply blow me away. As I said I listen to music over speakers at lower volumes because I live in an apartment. (Headphones for loud fun!) These speakers reproduce bass beautifully at low volume and for example I find that the bass in metal tracks can get lost in the mix at high volumes but it stands out clearly in my pair of Motion + speakers at lower volumes. I’m hearing new things in music that I’m quite familiar with.I’m not sure of the precise technical terms but my research indicates that these speakers have a more sophisticated level of crossover technology than most bluetooth speakers in this price range. I purchased a pair and as usual 2 speakers sounds 10 times as good as one. And they connect to each other and a source device easily, quickly with no cursing or swearing.I’m also using them sometimes as my TV speakers and I think that they sound as good or better than some of my friends much more expensive soundbars that have powered bass radiators. And I can get a more stereo separation than the soundbars. If there’s any drawbacks to this item it’s that “portable” doesn’t really mean your backpack, they’re freaking heavy. So they’re portable out to your backyard or best have a car if you’re going to the beach. I haven’t tested how waterproof they are yet but they do regularly sit on the edge of the bathtub so an accident will ensue.I bought this item as “Amazon Renewed” and like the majority of the “Warehouse Deal” items I’ve purchased as “used” you could not tell that the boxes were ever opened or the speakers had ever been used. As other reviews state these speakers are fingerprint magnets and I can’t see how any cleaning process could ever get them looking as pristine as the pair that I recieved.Overall the Soundcore Motion + was an excellent buy. I honestly didn’t need them, I was mad at myself for spending the money on them, and now I’d hate to live without them.
